Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
RazorSEdge Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Is it just me or is there no longer an option to an expiration time for packages? For example, Premium Memberships. In 3.4.x we could do the following:Premium Member 30 day, non-recurring. After 30 days, the member is placed back in original member group.Premium Member 30 day, recurring. Member stays in Premium Member group until they cancel membership. The only options I am seeing in IP4 (4.0.5.1) are these:Premium Member - Permanent. You can tell it "to place back in original group upon expiration", but there is no place to set expiration.Premium Member Recurring (based off time frame) - Member stays in Premium Member group until they cancel membership and time paid for expires.I am hoping I am just extremely overlooking the setting somewhere, as I know sometimes people like to have a non-recurring option either for personal reasons, or to just try it out before going into a recurring option.

The auto renewal payments with PayPal are also different, they are using PayPal Vault, only selected for few countries (USA, UK, .. ) .. no idea how the other payment gateways go .. PayPal subscriptions the IPB3 way (IPN) isn't there anymore .. .

Having to force people to cancel renewals just to have a non-recurring option really turns people away.
RazorSEdge Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 . The auto renewal payments with PayPal are also different, they are using PayPal Vault, only selected for few countries (USA, UK, .. ) I am in the US. In ACP, I have PayPal set up as: The Client ID and Secret are the live credentials from the application in PayPal. This is all that needs done (on the ACP side) then since there is no more IPN?

This is all that needs done (on the ACP side) then since there is no more IPN? . You are in the US .. PayPal Vault should be possible for you .. if you wanna do renewals automatically then that is the only way .. For PayPal Vault to work, you need to select "Pay by Card" .. All this PayPal system works only with REST API .. no IPN anymore, that's gone .. so is the old subscription system, gone .. PayPal Vault: https://developer.paypal.com/docs/integration/direct/rest-vault-overview/ If you not select "Pay by Card" .. then renewals will not work, members/customers will have to engage to do the payments and followup themselves whenever it expires .. Or you have to work with "Account Credit" .. let members fill it up and renewals will be deducted periodically .. .
