Show custom customer fields on donation checkout and do not require a billing address

I would like to show custom customer fields on donation checkout and do not want to require a billing address. I have already created a custom field, setup a donation goal and payment method (missing the testing payment method btw). Can you please help me how to configure this as I cannot find the appropriate settings.
