Mrdoodle Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Hey all, Anyone found documentation or blog posts about the background proceses? I am trying to move my test forum to a different, url, and I need it to redo it's theme cache.
bfarber Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 What information specifically are you after?
Mrdoodle Posted November 18, 2014 Author Posted November 18, 2014 Some points : How can I force them to run, if there is a need Can I see the schedule for the? Here are mines after 2-3 days. Some of them are not even started.
Mrdoodle Posted November 18, 2014 Author Posted November 18, 2014 Thanks for lurking the forums by the way that is very appreciated.
bfarber Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 You can run them manually from the task manager if you wish, or set a cron to run them automatically every minute (or whatever you want).
Mrdoodle Posted November 19, 2014 Author Posted November 19, 2014 Thank you! Is there a better place to find the task manager? I am using this small "view tasks" link just there. And now that I was able to get to the background process list, I am getting this nice stack trace when I try to run the task named "queue" From this I understant that the parser does not escape properly. It is trying to parse ('J'aime bien ...') I have just opened a bug for this -> http://community.invisionpower.com/bugs.html/4-0-0/apostrophe-in-topics-title-cause-background-process-crash-r49620/
Chetan105 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 For some process like moving files , is there an option to do this manually, this will be way faster than a task. Currently it takes days to move files if we change storage settings ...and the same can be accomplished manually in a few minutes.
bfarber Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 We specifically have made the manage tasks page a little harder to find to keep it out of the way for novice users. It should be extremely rare that any admin ever need to go there. The error you are getting has already been addressed for beta 3. You can set up a cron job to run tasks every minute, and the queue task is set to run every minute.
