Members unable to upload images

I started using ip.board last year on my site (http://fantasyteamadvice.com/forums) and for a while it ran perfectly. We ended up switching hosts (now with dreamhost) and for some reason, the image uploader/photo editor always seems to return an error. It looks like using gravatar still works, but I need to figure out how to fix the photo editor so that new users can upload a photo to their account.

Any ideas? I don't internet so good.. so try to keep it simple for a noob like me :)

What error is returned? That would be immensely helpful in narrowing down where the issue may be...

It could be a server level issue, or a mis-configured parameter... As it was working on your old host, I'm leaning toward it being a hosting issue. But the error would help determine that...

I have seen a number of different errors.

The most common one seems to be "Failed to set a new photo" with no real explanation as to why

A couple of times I have seen The file selected is too large. Max 50kb

Think I just figured it out.. finally saw the error message that says photo directory is not writable

Make sure you update your upload path...

ACP > System Settings > General Configuration > Path to 'Upload' directory... just beneath the setting IP.Board will tell you what it thinks the path should be...
