SEO: Forums weighted far heavier than Content?

I'm running into an SEO question regarding the weighting of the Forums vs. the weighting of Content. We have our content articles use the forums for comments. Searching in Google almost always brings up the Forum post instead of the Content post.

For example doing a search for the title of a content article: "site:cheersandgears.com General Motors Urges Their Dealers To Setup A Tech Center"

Only returns the forum post, a page listing tags, lots and lots of stuff except the actual article page. This is very frustrating.... any tips?
