Deep Blue 76 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I have a problem while using the product Invision Power Board 3.3.4 purchased from your website,I noticed from the logs in the admin panel and in the cache folder, which, almost daily, in my dedicated serverwhich has installed MySQL 5.1 and PHP 5.2.18 occur crashes of MYSQL, I am attaching the logs produced by your software, asking whether it can be a problemdue to a lack of hardware resources or to another type of error in the script, I am attaching also the hardware specifications of the dedicated server where the script is allocated.Looking forward to your response,Sincerely, P.S: The Hosting has sent me these parameters mysql to know what i need to change to the proper functioning of Invision Power Board in my dedicated server. Grumpy Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I don't see anything wrong. Some possibilities of causes are (no particular order) in my view: bug with mysql. You can try updating. Running a pretty old version. OS limit on connections. mysql limit on connections. You have it at 400. We can raise that or cut off bad connections faster by reducing timeouts. You can see if this is an issue by running mysql tuner. (https://raw.github.com/rackerhacker/MySQLTuner-perl/master/mysqltuner.pl) Might wanna look up tutorial online if confused. You can also check if you are getting any errors being reported in os logs. /var/log/messages (example if you have rhel/centos/fedora/scientific linux/cloudlinux) As stupid as it sounds, you might even want to try rebooting. lol
Deep Blue 76 Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 I've just looked log you've mentioned but there's no trace about sql gone away or die error in messages file.
Grumpy Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I've just looked log you've mentioned but there's no trace about sql gone away or die error in messages file. That log isn't for php trace logs or anything php related. It's OS raised errors or issues OS wants you to know about.
p4guru Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 99% of time, one my.cnf variable is responsible for such errors and a simple google search reveals which one http://lmgtfy.com/?q=%22MySQL+Error%3A+MySQL+server+has+gone+away%22+%2B+%22wait_timeout%22+%2B+%22my.cnf%22+%2B+%22Lost+connection%22 ;) yes it's wait_timeout - too low a value set ;)
p4guru Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I've just looked log you've mentioned but there's no trace about sql gone away or die error in messages file. I see them clearly in the logs attached in first post  looks like attachments taking longer than >20 seconds timing out mysql before completion Date: Mon, 11 Mar 2013 13:45:25 +0000 Error: 2006 - MySQL server has gone away IP Address: 87.3.203.131 - /forum/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_id=469200 possible slow queries/table locking probably also eating your mysql and mysql per user connection limits as Grumpy stated Date: Mon, 11 Mar 2013 22:04:56 +0000 Error: 1203 - User root already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections IP Address: 87.8.125.252 - /forum/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=viewNewContent&period=unread&userMode=&search_app=forums&sid=e32c4630cba7d6d8d5917f5e014b2a1d&search_app_filters[forums][searchInKey]=&st=25 But reducing timeouts will actually make things worse (for server gone away errors). You need to get to the root problems of what is causing queries to take longer than 20 seconds to complete.
