Easier way to download distributions

I've been mulling over how annoying it is to update IPB whenever there's a new version (log in, download, extract, upload, install) and I was thinking how awesome it would be if we could just wget and unzip a distribution file directly from a shell on the server. The client area is already SSL so there's no worries about passing credentials over HTTP basic - and it would be a really handy feature for other users of IP.Downloads too. (And yes, it's Windows server friendly too!)

I agree we could make updating easier - although I think the way you suggested is about the most complicated way possible :P

We already have the Auto-Installer, which will upload files for you, and this is something I'd like us to improve and expand on in the future.
