Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
gdws Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Is there any module for invisionboard which can scan all accounts email addresses, again mx records and reverse dns info and if invalid, move them to a specific group? my forum i have over 19k members and when i send out emails i get about 3k bounces.
Luis Manson Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 i have a similar problem, but i can track them using regex in mysql...maybe you could make a shell script
Grumpy Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Valid mx record and reverse dns doesn't really make it a valid email. lasjeoifualsjdlfkjasdf@gmail.com would then be considered valid. There are email validators out there that connects to the said server and queries to see if it's a good email address. First one I found on google was: http://tools.email-checker.com/ Not free through. If you can find some sort of script (or make it), you could run it yourself though. The concept isn't too complicated...
