Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
joelle Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 View new content is a great new feature for IP.Board and it would be totally awesome if you would add some basic seo to the "View New Content" url structure. It would be great if you could turn thishttp://community.invisionpower.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=viewNewContent&search_app=gallery&sid=835bb6d3e7d3ae0f58a8b2d2f1b7d20d&search_app_filters[blog][searchInKey]=&period=week&userMode=&followedItemsOnly=0
…into this
http://community.invisionpower.com/new/gallery/images/past_week

Michael Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 What is the advantage to this? Friendly URLs are for the benefit of search engines, and why would a search engine need to index your View New Content pages? It drives me bonkers when I'm googling for something, see a result that looks promising, and it just takes me to some other site's search results page, where that topic I wanted isn't even listed anymore.
