Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
dling Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I have had a ip forum for about 8 years.... maybe only 6 years... since 2005. Always liked the customer service... that is why we use it isn't it instead of some open source forum like phpbb? I moved my website to a new server last night. Transfered forum data bases over. Forum doesn't work. I want to upgrade to newest version. I have put in tickets and paid for IP to move to new host. I really don't even know if they need to, it may have been done already for them. I am not doing the site move work... my ecommerce guys is doing that. He doesn't really mess with ip forums. I just know he moved the forum databases. That is about it. Anyway, I have made requests for a phone call since you guys don't take phone calls anymore. No response. Used to always talk to Niki, I think it is. She was always very helpful. Have pleaded for help in ticket system. No response. I just don't know what to do right now... Very frustrated all the way around. I just want my forum back up ASAP.
dling Posted February 11, 2011 Author Posted February 11, 2011 IP used to be very fast and responsive. I don't know what has happened.
AnthonyKinson Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 My advice would be not to keep replying to tickets. If my knowledge is correct each time you reply to a ticket it jumps to the bottom of the list, meaning longer waiting times. You can always post in the support forums to to help you get the ball rolling in the right direct to the cause of the problem while your waiting, so at least you don't feel like your sitting around waiting.
Guest Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Hello David, I've just had a look at your ticket history, and see that your server transfer request ticket is less than 20 hours old, in which time you and our support team have made around 20 responses. Our server transfers department has less staff managing it than general support or sales, due to the complex nature of the task. As a result, these requests can take longer than most to deal with, but your ticket is well within our defined standards of service. With that being said, I'd expect that someone should hopefully be able to get to your request today. Please note that whilst we do not encourage it, multiple responses to tickets do not push them to the end of the queue. We deal with all requests in the order that they are received. I'll close this topic now, as it is not IP.Board feedback. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
