It would be nice if a system were in place which allows apps to throw error messages if your app version is lower than needed for your current forum version or other such compatibility details.

For IP.tracker, for instance, you must upgrade to 1.3.3 to have it work with IPB 3.1.0, but I didn't realize it until I got an error when trying to submit a new issue on my test site and so then I figured it out.

But anyway I don't know if that type of thing would happen often, but figured I would suggest anyway.
