kimforster Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 This is probably a silly question LOL but I have 2 boards. A current phpBB & a new IPb. I am slowly getting ready for a transfer. My question is how do I tell if my 2 boards are on the same server?? They're both on my website. I made a sub domain temporarily for the new board, both boards are on different IP's. How can I find out if they're on the same server or not??
kimforster Posted May 24, 2010 Author Posted May 24, 2010 I'm guessing I am on 2 servers. My main website one is called voda29 The one for IPB is called server45 (server45.ipslink.com) so is that right they're not on the same server?
Robulosity2 Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 If you have SSh access to the server type "ifconfig" and press enter if all of the IP's show up there..than it's a good bet of course you can also do traceroute to both IPs and if they resolve to the same server name.. it's also pretty much going to be the same box
kimforster Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 Both are through my own website host but the IPBoard is on a sub domain of my website, my other is a part of the website (phpBB). They're not both hosted with IPS. IPB was set up for me by my webhost, I just created the sub domain for it. I'm guessing I don't have SSH access since I don't even know what that is
