Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Qwerty7500 Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I'd like to get an answer to a feature that I'd love to see : In "Custom Profile Fields", in addition to Text Area / Text Input / Drop Down Box, could IPB3 provide Checkboxes to enable multiple answers? :)
ColdinCbus Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I has the option for radio buttons. Will that work for you?
Qwerty7500 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Well, I guess Radio Buttons are pretty similar to Checkboxes if multiple choices were allowed, that would work for me, but I doubt... :ermm: For example, if what I need is adding a custom profile field like "My favorite color(s)", can a member check 2 buttons like "Blue" + "Green" ?
TrixieTang Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 It's a good idea... but fields with lots of checkboxes could be a problem if someone checked a bunch of them...
coe Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 There is a specific need for each option. All should be included to make IPB3 1. much more scalable option 2. prevents reinventing usages for other options. 3. Reduce confusion and frustration from users. (we've seen this in IPB2 in our user base feedback, a large deterrent for registration ) 4. Keeps the interface simple and seamless. We'd appreciate this option.
