I asked this the other day and its a custom field that has not been set up yet.

It will be setup as a custom field by default. There were some issues (already reported) with the custom fields on install/upgrade though which is why it may not be available.

It's a custom field - custom fields support the ability to use images if you wish.

It will probably be added back here, yes, but we've got more important things to contend with right now.

Custom fields do not parse bbcode presently.

It is in 2.3 as well - there's settings to control it in the acp custom fields section
