Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
abetts Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 99.9% of people who use the internet and indeed forums type an internet address without the http:// and instead use www.website.com Would it be possible to make a www.website.com link a hyperlink without requiring users either use the button or type http:// It would make things much, much easier imo.
Jmiz9000 Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Good idea, but in the meantime you can do a badword filter and put "www" to "http://www". Obviously not the best way to do it

Graeme S. Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 That badword filter would change "http://www" to "http://http://www" ;) Surely if you made it strict, it wouldn't. Alternatively, make the blacklisted word " www." ensuring there is a space before?
Jmiz9000 Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 That badword filter would change "http://www" to "http://http://www" ;) Yes that wouldnt work :(. Surely if you made it strict, it wouldn't. Alternatively, make the blacklisted word " www." ensuring there is a space before? That would work but i think it takes out the space in front
