Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
bwyatt Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 I was looking through the default Help articles on IPB and the content there is minimal, incomplete and simply dire. For IPB 3, I would like to highly suggest a few people are dedicated to writing professional, comprehensive help articles on the board and the components. If that can't be done, maybe let the community write it for you. I don't know, I just think that the current documentation is pretty terrible for helping people with the vast array of IPB features. This has probably been posted before anyways. Please consider it. :) Cheers.
Vince G. Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 This has probably been posted before anyways. Yes it was, But it's true we sure need to get the documentation and if possible the developer documentation updated. If i recall then IPS did update it but just didn't post it yet.
Rikki Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Hi, Thanks for your feedback. Just to clarify, are you referring to the documentation we post on our website, or the Help section built into IP.Board itself (i.e. this)?
bwyatt Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 The actual help section in IPB itself.http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?act=Help
Keith J. Kacin Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 I agree this can use some updating, and I believe it is planned.
Debby@reef-face.co.uk Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Why won't it let me read some articles? saying i need to register with the same username and password as my client account, yet when i was added as an additional contact and invision sent me an email the username and password fields were blank. ? Please help!
ildera Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 I agree this can use some updating, and I believe it is planned. Please check for typos! ;) eg. http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?...DE=01&HID=2 Opera: * Choose the "Tools" menu at the top of the browser. * Choose the "Preferences" item. * Choose the "Advanced" option. * Select the "Cookies" option. * Choose "Manage Cookies". * Select the website that you wisht o clear the cookies for. * Choose the "Delete" option.http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?...E=01&HID=16Topic Options A guide to the options avaliable when viewing a topic. * Linear+ - is similiar to standard with the added benefit of having the first post of the topic always shown at the top, no matter what page of the topic you are on.
