yetanothername Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 First off, the question: Is there any way to change the author of a post? One of the members on a forum I manage happened to get his account deleted. (Don't ask ;)) He had ~400 odd posts at the time, and now they all show up as Guest_Koder_* or -Koder-. Is there a way to change these post's 'ownership' to his new account? And the suggestion: Recently, I added another member to my root admin group, but set it as one of his secondary groups. It turned out because this was bad, because he couldn't edit his account, giving him an error of 'You can't edit root admins', even though he belonged to the proper group.
atomicknight Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Edit the database data (i.e. look up the post IDs and change the author ID for each of them). You can increment his post count also if you want.
bfarber Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Regarding the question, please use IPS Beyond.Regarding the suggestion - there's actually a rather good discussion of the issue in the bug tracker. We will be making some changes to the secondary admin system in a future release.
