Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
SecondSight Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Hello !When I need moderators for my forums, I simply write an announcement. Then we discuss through PMs.Now, I would like to have a special tool for this, which would allow members to request being moderators of a forum or category. I'm thinking of a "become moderator of this forum" link or a button that would lead members to a form where they can find :- explanations about what moderation is ;- the moderation rules ;- radio buttons to accept or not the terms of the rules ;- choose wich category or forum they would moderate ;- a textbox where they can write why they want to become moderators ;Of course, applications to become moderators would be automatic and would need the admin aproval. What do you think of it ?Thank you ! :)
Alex Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Didnt someone write one? DStaff application or something like that?
Dlf Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Yes. But I think he wants it defautly on the board -- ACP option. Sounds good to me, i'd keep reinstalling the mod if it wasn't on teh board.
Digi Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Or use a component and not reinstall the mod unless it is updated? :P
SecondSight Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I think he wants it defautly on the board -- ACP option.Yes. I believe this tool should be added defaultly to the board, and that it would make finding moderators an easier task...
.Timmy Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I don't think it's a necessary feature to add. I'd rather have a reputation system than this added as default, and I'm not very fond of that either.
SecondSight Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 This feature I'm talking about could simply be added to IPB as a moderator center feature (if there is a moderator center included in IPB in the future).
