Okay i run a design zine, and use WordPress for the main zine front, and IPB for the community side of things.

But i am starting to hate WordPress as it lacks certain features, would IPD be able to replace WordPress?
In that it can have proper posts in categories, with RSS feeds, tags, etc

Plus when is this software being released? I was told last year!

wordpress is a blog, so it's quite different from a cms which main feature is integration of content and the ability to place it anywhere you want.

IPD isn't a blog, so it isn't going to do the same.

IPD is for making a site, Wordpress is for Blogging.

If you are wanting a site, then go with IPD, if you want a blog go with Wordpress.

Um....IPD pricing hasn't even been announced. Stop spreading rumors when you have nothing to go on but user opinion on the suggested price.

Yes! But i want to have a one account for forums, and the main blog/site.

Converge sucks at the moment as is, but so far does not work with WordPress (i cant see how it could either as wordpress has its own profiles etc)

My idea would be use IPD to build a blog front, and then create other pages like a podcast page, downloads etc, gallery.
and use converge to link all the stuff together under one id

I'm sure it'll possible to use IPD as a blog, in some form or another. But Wordpress is blogging software, it is designed to be used as a blog, so if you want a blog, surely the obvious choice would be blogging software?

I'd rather everything in one package... i currently use a custom cms, wordpress and IPB - that's 3 different systems i have to maintain. A lot more work that using a single cms for the blog and the main site with linked user management to the forum. - my ideal cms would do everything in one including forum... but that's obviously not going to happen.
