Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
silverstarfish Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 I think it would be great if there was an option to simply inherit or copy the permissions of a forum when creating a new one, it would make it so all of those clicks wouldn't be required in the permissions boxes, which gets complicated if you have a lot of member groups. :)
Brandon C Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 This is a definite must-have for IP.Board 3.0. It would be a huge time-saver and definitely needs to be implemented.
silverstarfish Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Glad someone agrees. A lot of forums need similar permissions.
D.San Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 At one point, didn't IPB have this feature?+1 from me as well. It's much needed!
Gogf Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Sounds great. Even better would be a system that dynamically inherits the permissions/settings from another forum. That is, if you update one forum, you automatically update the other.
Cool Surfer Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 I had posted the same suggestion sometime back... found an alternative. Use deans mod to do this for you :)
Cool Surfer Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 http://forums.dscripting.com/index.php?aut...mp;showfile=100try this. Found it.:)
