Intergrated Shoutbox

I've seen it mentioned, why not have one? have it so it can be enabled/disabled via the ACP. If Dean stops making his which he has said is possible, there won't be a half-decent one for IPB.

I don't really get the point of a "shoutbox" on a bulletin board, though. All it does is encourage less discussion on the actual forums.

IMO this is why there are mods, and Dean's is not the only one. Even Brandon Farber's portal has an integrated shoutbox.

Agreed with Rick, I am totally against having an integrated shoutbox of any sort into IPB. Some things are just best left for modifications, and this is a prime example.

I have created an AJAX based shoutbox, and it works pretty well. Its available at IPSBeyond and Invisionize.

Shoutboxes are cool, but having one integrated would be dumb.
