"My Comments" Suggestion

When you recieve a new comment, I was wondering if it could be setup so a message saying X New Comments appears to the right of X New Messages, and the message stays there until you check your profile.

Maybe a mod idea?

Or can this be done with some skinning tricks?

I think that would be a good idea to have, like "X New Comments" as you said. :) However, if this was put into place, it would make "send PM upon new comment" a bit redundant.

I'd personally prefer the option to receive a new PM. It makes use of the PM system and doesn't add another bit to the skin.

hm, I agree with the redundant comment. I would turn off the pm notices of new comments.

I was kinda hoping for something similar to the REP system, if you used it before where it doesn't show 0 New Comments. It wouldn't display anything unless there is a new comment, when it would then show X New Comments.

Similar to myspace, but that is my favorite thing about their service is the X New Comments.

I'm guessing this could be easily removed by people who don't like it with a simple skin edit.

The first two quotes you made were for having a new "My Comments" link, and the last one is against it:

I was thinking they went together as you can have the option in the user cp to turn on comment notifications. I personally think it should be default to have it send them then have the option to turn it off.
