Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Mesmer Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 The problem is not on your end. It has to do with the DoS protection here. If you open a few pages up, you start losing CSS, images and javascript files as the server blocks it thinking it's a DoS attack.
dflorin Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 since we are things not workins, i will not open another topic for this one: inthe default skin there are some <th align=center> tags that are supposed to center the table header in forum view and topic view (topics, replies, topic starter, views). they do not work. the column headers are aligned to the left. also, when a new pm pops out, everything behind it gets centered.

steve777 Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 It happens because of the DoS prtection.what ... even on my own test forum which only has myself as a member ??and why would it be ok in FF and not IE6 ??
dflorin Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 this may be just a coincidence, but ... i think the little buttons problem is not my fault nor ips fault but ... ie fault. last thursday windows alerted me to a new critical update. it was ie7, so i said what the heck, let me try it. i did not like it, so i uninstalled ie7. afterwards ... no more buttons. i put it back on today and voila, i have the buttons. this is freaking stupid ... :(

bfarber Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I've found that while they load for me, I think part of the problem is the png "hack" for IE6 - that's why it's not a problem in FF or IE7. I've removed the png transparency correction. PNG's won't look so pretty, I'm afraid, but if it comes to looking pretty and working properly - working has to take precendence.Besides, if you just update to IE7, which is supported (both by MS officially, and by us for IPB) you won't have the problem. ;)
dflorin Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 just to be sure: the "png hack" is included in ie7? will it show the png with transparent background? (ps: i do not like ie6/7 nor firefox)

Alex Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Thanks for fixing it, however I dont like the new design for IE7, all too squashed for me.
dflorin Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Get Opera then.i heard there is such a thing. i use maxthon.
UnitedPakistan Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I dont see any buttons either and cache is cleared!
Mat Barrie Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 The buttons wont show up. Either the HTML or the CSS is screwed.
richo Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 The buttons appear on this site in IE6, but not on my own installation of RC3. The hover highlights appear when I rollover where they should be and the links to the images appear on the source code and the images work correctly when I browse to them.<td><div class="rte-normal" id="fast-reply_cmd_ipb_code"><img src="style_images/1/folder_editor_images/rte-code-button.png" alt="Wrap in code tags" title="Wrap in code tags" /></div></td>No amount of hard refreshing etc. seems to resolve it. It all works fine in Firefox.^ Hmmm... something also seems to be up with the codebox. It doesn't scroll in IE like it does in Firefox and screws up the layout. ^
flesh_magick Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I reported this a few weeks ago:http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?...mp;bug_cat_id=9I'm glad to see its the png fix thingy. I could live without that...
