Keven Fox Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 Sorry for asking but I have some concerns.I'm under the impression we still upgrade the way we were always told, that is to delete all files except conf_global.So will it matter that I've changed my admin folder? I'm guessing I'll just have to change it again right?
.KX Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 You aren't meant to delete anything as far as I know...
Mark Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 I would upload your new admin/index.php to whatever your admin folder is called
Keven Fox Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Yeah I did the admin directory edit prior to upload anyway. Worked out just fine.
.Ryan Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 You delete all the files except conf_global.php and then you upload the new software. Works fine for me. Otherwise see the link in my sig if you get problems and other junk shows up. It helped me get rid of all the garbage I had.

I also save any headers from any of my skins in style_images/ that I would need again. Upload new files, and run the upgrader.
Keven Fox Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Either way I always backup my emoticons, uploads and avatars folders. It had just been awhile since I upgraded, but like I said all went well :)
