Adam Swann Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Has anyone attempted the live upgrade yet? Just want to know as i might try it myself...
Dlf Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I would NOT try that unless you have back-ups, possibly fair amount of CSS know-how. Tried it my self (I did have back-ups) I just couldn't get the skinning to work though, images not showing, text not appearing, couldn't 'cache' without breaking futher.
Adam Swann Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Ah right ok, well im currently running on the default skin (none custom) so any advance?
Mat Barrie Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Ah right ok, well im currently running on the default skin (none custom) so any advance? If you have no skin customisations, it should work. BUT, it's still not a good idea since it voids your support and all sorts of other nasties.
Dlf Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I was also using default, even porting over the skin_cache/cacheid_2/ files from FRESH & non-2.1.x (I tried several RC installs) I couldn't it get to work.
Will L. Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Has anyone attempted the live upgrade yet? If Adam takes the appropriate precautions, and enters into this process with no expectation of support, why is it your concern?
Canadian Hotdogman Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I did mine and I have a problem here and there but I find away to fix it somehow! :D
