IPS Driver Error

A few times during the 2.2 beta/RC stage I have tried to connect to the IPB forums, only to get an "IPS Driver Error" - There appears to be an error with the database. Why is this ? Has the forum been hacked ?

Also, when I clicked on the Buy Now link for IPB about 20 minutes ago, I got the following error:

IPB WARNING [2] rss_parse_feed_from_url(/home/invision/public_html/customer/core/sources/ips_kernel/class_convert_charset.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory (Line: 609 of /home/invision/public_html/ips_kernel/class_rss.php)

What's that all about ?

Why did the old ipb show more information when there would be an sql error? Seems more like a downgrade since it doesn't tell you the specific problem.

The second error explains itself, see bolded part.

I realize that, but why was this file missing ?

It has nothing to do with 2.2 or IPB's security,

as confirmed here

.

Thanks for the info. Stewart mentioned that the problem has been formally addressed. Does this mean that it was a DoS attack or some other problem ?

It still does show the error, the error gets logged to a .cgi file in /cache/ true I prefer the error being shown, helps me code quicker. But it may have been a security thing, if people could see the SQL stuff maybe they could compromise it.

I noticed that when this showed the mysql error wasn't being displayed (same as when on my test site I changed the password in conf_global.php)

Have you removed the mysql error from display??

Yes, it's logged to an error log in the cache folder now instead :)
