Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
TCWT Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Anyone know if this problem still exists in 2.2 ?
Management Matt Posted September 25, 2006 Management Posted September 25, 2006 Search isn't broken, it's just the way MySQL stores the full text indexes."Together" is not stored because it's either too common and thus ignored (MySQL fulltext search ignores a word if it appears in more than 50% of the database results) or it's a 'stop' word and not stored in the index because it's a common word (MySQL ignores common words such as 'when', 'where', 'have', etc).
nightfox_pc_asst Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Thus keeping the DB from being bloated...I get it, thanks Matt.
JXX Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 A little more info on this:The word "together" is a default MySQL full-text stopword. Stopwords are (by default) excluded from search results.List of Default Full-Text StopwordsFine-Tuning MySQL Full-Text Search
