Posted March 22, 200619 yr is there any possibility that in the next major version of IPB that the UserCp Menu can be made into an ajax style menu or some other method so that it can be moved if needed, if you wanted to move the horizontal submenu items into a left sided vertical menu item the UserCp menu causes you to have 2 left sided vertical menu's, it would be cool if the User Cp menu could be changed into a seperate template or placed horizontally with either java/ajax dropdown actions when you mouse over each item. Just a suggestion.
March 22, 200619 yr What is an AJAX dropdown? I can understand a javascript/HTMLDOM solution, but where does AJAX come into it - AJAX is a method for sending and recieving information without reloading the page.
March 22, 200619 yr come on! everything that is "neat" is AJAX. didn't you know? :P I agree that the ACP is fine, and making it movable blocks like the blog is could do more harm than good-- especialyl when it comes to components that add a submenu.
March 22, 200619 yr Well, it'll be interesting to see a AJAX user CP, but in all seriousness, I don't think so . AJAX needs javascript enabled, and the UCP should not be javascript since what if the user browsing it doesn't have it? They can't change their password, email and such then? Also, I think this should be limited to things like the signature most of all. It would be the signature that would benefit the most, so you can add into it without a total refresh of the page.
