Hello...
I have a very large board (schaltroller.com) and there are some categories, were a prune feature for topics would be very useful...e.g. marketplace
It should be an automated prune, e.g. all topics without reply for x days shall be automatically pruned.

Especially with forums that accept RSS import posts this would be very handy to have automated. I don't need 1 month worth of CNN news on my forum. ;)

LOL, that's exactly why I was searching here. ;)

Hmm, now that I know that such a feature doesn't exist, it shouldn't be difficult to write a task based on the prune API functions of the board. I'll look into it...

Thanks! I've been waiting for something like this for a long time. It works as advertised.

Only two comments:

1) Including some basic directions for installation might be nice. Those of us who're used to IPB won't have problems, but it might throw newbies for a loop.

2) This doesn't allow for different settings for different forums. All selected forums get the same settings. No big deal, but if possible it would be a nice feature to add.

1) Well, should "newbies" use such a script in the first place? I think if an admin doesn't know how to import ACP settings, upload a file or set up a task, it is not very advisable to use something like automatic deletion of content. I'm stating "import ACP settings" and "upload file to...", which should be enough for every admin that knows how to use the ACP. I don't want to provide tutorials for basic usage of the forum or the ACP, but if any user feels uncomfortable setting it up I'm glad to give support in the script's support topic at IPSBeyond.

2) Forum-specific settings could only be achieved by making use of the component system which would complicate things a lot (storing settings, setting it up). It would also be ten times the coding effort.
