The help guides on this site all seem to be written with site administrators and moderators in mind. Is there any guide that documents how members of a community can actually use the forums?
Even if options can be rearranged or disabled by the site admin, it would still be a lot easier to be able to refer users to a guide that explains how all the features work. If a feature is optional, the guide can say so. I don't know how I would be able to create a guide for my community explaining all the features, when there is no official guide, written for the end user perspective, to build on. And when users ask me for support, I have to figure things out for myself, or put in a support request to Invision, because I have no proper documentation about how the site works.
Frankly, I make very few changes to my site, other than disabling entire apps. Invision makes changes more frequently than I do, and if I tried to make a guide I would have to spend a lot of time modifying it when new versions come out. (Maybe I would enable more features if I could read how they actually work for the members, rather than just about how to set up and administer them.)
Bottom line: Please make documentation that I can use and provide to site members.
Thanks. Looking forward to being able to view it!
Funny you should ask that. I uploaded a video for forum members on how to use the forum like posting etc. I'm waiting for it to be approved by Invision.
