We upgraded our site to 4.7.1 on August 16. Since then, the updatecheck task that runs daily has failed each time. We received an email notification as follows:

One of the routine maintenance tasks which run in the background has failed several times, which may indicate a configuration issue.

I checked the System Logs and I see the following entry each time the task has been run:

Not at all sure what's going on here. If I execute the task manually (from the task manager) it's fine. Our tasks currently run via cron.
