This is related to the whitespacing issue I posted about yesterday. Outside of banning a non-compliant member, what other options do I have to prevent the usage of a given app/browser that is problematic with IPS sites? The inconsistent behavior of the app/browser is simply not dissuading the member enough as sometimes it posts correctly, but other times it inserts 10 scrolling pages of whitespace and completely disrupts the readability of the site for everyone. I've had a number of PMs with the member, and it's at the point of instituting a ban which would be a shame because has posted years of good content on the site. I'd rather have a passive aggressive approach of outright blocking his app and still giving him a choice to browse/use the site with an alternate browser. Any ideas?

OK, problem solved. This is with a Samsung Galaxy S20 and using what appears to be a third party app (despite it saying it's using Chrome as the browser app) I informed the member to use Chrome directly, which is included with the Samsung Galaxy S20. Waiting on device details from my member, but it appears to be a Samsung SM-G996U. However I do notice IPS is detecting different device details, both of which I believe are the same device from him. He says this is an intermittent problem, so I wonder if under it's related to the difference in user agent? He is only using one device as far as I know. Member says they aren't running any add-on and the issue randomly happens on both regular and Incognito mode. Noticed a page layout shift/reload that occurs in Clubs and Marketplace applications that use an ipsGrid. There is a visual flashing/shifting behavior of the grid items. They seem to default to a certain grid layout and then load the finalized one after that. Is there a way to correct this so it loads without the flashing/shifting? Example, the Members list:

Yep I see it there as well. Even set to 6, it flashes a different spacing layout of the 6 and then condenses down to the final view.

Noticing on desktop when I visit the Members tab, it flashes 6 cards and then loads what it is set to in the configuration (12 in my case). Any idea? I tried clearing cache but that didn't change the behavior.

Is there a way to rebuild the thumbnails? I wanted to change a prize image but the thumbnail remains the same as the original image.

Is this app still being supported? Does it now work with PHP 8.1?

That would indeed be very strange as I'm 99.9% sure it's just a stock Chrome browser included with the Android phone.

I didn't get it from him, I looked it up online to use in the emulator and was able to reproduce it. If I had to guess he is using Chrome as he will use whatever is stock on the Android phone. I was trying to guide him through an app install of Firefox, but he was worried it would mess things up on his phone (which lets you know what level of tech comfort he has).

OK I asked for the info, will let you know what I hear back. Not sure if he ever installed Firefox (he's a "low tech" member).

@Marc Stridgen any chance you can try to embed a FB reel on a test forum and verify it works for you? At least that would rule out something in my FB app's config or the like.

I've asked the member to test on Firefox or Opera. Looking at the console output, agree it appeared to be jQuery related. Very curious to see if you determine anything, super strange to have some random phone not work. Thanks @Nathan Explosion

He literally just got it recently. Getting a new phone is quite an expensive fix, unless he can return it and would somehow be willing to do that just to get access to the site. More than likely will result in a member simply not using the site. What would he (or I) even report to the manufacturer to fix? An IPS error stack trace isn't useful enough, we need to know what exactly is going wrong.

I don't see anything (alerts or otherwise) in the developer console on facebook.

Thanks Marc. Not sure what to do here. I have only been able to reproduce this issue on an emulator with that specific user agent, every other Android device operates normally as you have also found.

The emulator had the exact same behavior as his device, and I don't see it on my own devices. Likewise, he doesn't see it on his other devices, only that particular one. So my thought process is if the emulator has identical behavior, you may be able to identify what is happening or causing it.
