Posted March 31Mar 31 HelloI started using My Clubs but I can't find the option to start a new topic. I'm using version 4.7.20.Thanx
March 31Mar 31 Community Expert You would need to join a club in order to participate I suspect is what your issue is. If not, please provide a link to where you are seeing this issue, and let us know who you are logged in as
March 31Mar 31 Author Thank you both for paying attention to my topicI am the administrator of this club and the forum and there is no New Topic option anywhere. When I looked for the permissions to start a new topic, I couldn't find them anywhere. So I'm looking for my group or any group where to find the option started a new topicThe only thing i can see is Overview Also don't forget to create at least one forum inside the clubThere's not even an option for a new forum, but I think why would there be a need for a new forum there other than to start a new topic? March 31Mar 31 Solution There's not even an option for a new forum,Sorry for the confusion. It's called "Club Feature" and is used inside clubs.
March 31Mar 31 Author Everything was ok but now I encountered another problem. In the club I have started I don't want its members to be able to start new topics but only by me. Are there any option or permissions somewhere because I haven't found any. Sorry for my persistence on this topic Edited March 31Mar 31 by BognorRidges
March 31Mar 31 Author I've been a member for 21 years, I pay $19 a month, and when I use the help, I have to open ten posts to find a solution to the same issue, and I'm dealing with geniuses. Is that how it works?Thank you

March 31Mar 31 Just another user here so maybe wait for official word. Personally I don't see a way (yet) to do what I think you want. If what you want is for the members to be able to REPLY to posts but not start them.A read-only type club can allow one person to post, all members to read, but no one else to post. I'm guessing that's not what you want though.I don't see any way to control the granularity of a member being able to read and reply yet not start a new topic. The words used to describe club permissions include read and participate and I think participate means both post and reply. In regular forums outside of clubs you can get to a permission grid to set different post-new and reply-to permissions by user Group, but not by club membership. I have not been able to find or see the club-forums separately in the ACP to adjust permissions. Same with club-specific Pages. Edited March 31Mar 31 by bradl

Sorry for my persistence on this topicAnyone within the club would be able to perform the actions within the club that you setup. There are no separate permissions. If you want a read only type of announcement, you could utilize a Page for this. The read-only club type will allow you to limit who can join to participate and all others can simply read.Otherwise, if you wish to restrict groups from posting, it is better to utilize a full forum rather than a club. OK, but I've made another answer because there was another issue that I can't find a solution to and I'm writing it again. Please keep in mind that our policy states that support replies from ourselves take up to 72 hours. As you experienced in this topic, that is not the norm. We will get to your question as soon as possible so we thank you for your patience.

March 31Mar 31 Community Expert ok you can hide behind policyI'm sorry you didn't like my reply but as I mentioned, you are actually receiving a reply significantly faster than current policy states. All replies in this topic have been less than 2 hours after your posted question or follow up. I'm more than happy to pass along any feedback on how we can do better though.
March 31Mar 31 Is that how it works?Hi @BognorRidges,It's nice to see another long-standing client! It's so good to see you've stuck with Invision Community like many of us over the years. There has been a positive shift in how support can be obtained on Invision Community. You can read more about it on the blog entry below. That's not to say you can no longer contact Invision Community directly of course, but it definitely improves response times especially on weekends or other out of hour periods like public holidays, etc. If others in the community have experienced the issue and received an answer, you don't have to wait x amount of time for a team member to respond. The team are extremely knowledgeable and do their best to provide the best service they can, which I can say is far more superior to other platforms I have used.Keep in mind that not all issues and errors are a simple answer and do require some trial and error before being resolved.
