Upgraded whilst using an iPad on a poor connection in a hotel room. It’s all about easy now this upgrading lark isn’t it.

I know you got hammered for not allowing template changes and I get the arguments wanting to, however on the flip side, now it’s done by hooks, the whole upgrade process is a lot quicker. No more updating templates which was almost impossible on iPads previously.

i dont know whos fixing ui bugs, but whoever was trying to fix it also created new ones in the same areas 🙄 these are not important things, just polishing ui, so if you dont have time to fix everything now and of course there are more important things to do first, why dont you just leave this for some later version? 🤔 i would set to this low priority, some completion date in summer or whenever there will be more time and fix everything properly 😐 this is twice more work for everybody 😐

Just keep posting bugs. We'll get them.

What a time to be alive. 🤣

Just upgraded to 5.0.3 from 4.x.

I'm not sure why the Post Feed widget takes an image from a thread and puts that next to the post. Shouldn't it be the user's avatar?

Just an observation..

In v4.x, threads didn't count the thread OP as a reply. So when you posted a thread, it would show 0 replies. In v5.x they are counted as a reply. Just wondering what the logic behind the change is.

Thanks.

My bad. Could have sworn I saw that. Thanks for the correction.

Question...

I want to put observations, questions, and/or possibly bugs in the right place. Are the threads for the new versions the proper place for this now? It looks like the Club; Invision Community 5: Beta Testing, is pretty much done being utilized for these things.

And a subsequent one I guess..

Can the Test Posting sub be utilized for support of sensitive postings (ie; things of a with personal info)? I would like to post screen shots to help express what I am seeing.

Thanks.

You can post in the general questions forum any questions you have. In terms of posts needing sensitive information giving, just let us know if thats the case and we can open a ticket if needed, or will request you send a PM, depending on what it is. The test area is for testing only. That said however, if you do post screenshots in the test post and want to link to show us something, I dont think anyone would have an issue with that :)

I have this error a huge number of times in the system log (183 times!).

Do you know what I can do to correct the problem?

Thxs.

Is this a fresh install or an upgrade from an earlier version? If the latter, were the errors logged in during the upgrade and keep occurring again, or have they stopped after the upgrade? If the former this could be a bug imo, although I don't recall seeing this type of error before. If the errors happened only during the upgrade process, but stopped after the upgrade then I think that this can be safely ignored. Do you have any apps installed btw that have to do with the Calendar app?

This is an upgrade from the latest version 4. I upgraded to 5.0.1, then 5.0.2 and finally 5.0.3.

No errors during the upgrade process, and the forum seems to be working properly. The errors started to appear on March 11, between 3.19pm and 3.49pm. That's when I added an event to the calendar.

No other apps installed, only Calendar.

I've just run a test: when I add an event, the error doesn't reappear in the system log. Weird 🙃

If the errors won't re appear then you can safely ignore this imo.

I got this report here from one of my users :

Hello, ever since the new site update I am having a terrible time trying to bring up this site on my iPad. The screen loads then disappears. Some rare times after 8 or 9 try’s I will finally see the page.

I checked it out on my iPad but there all worked out fine - so what could the problem be ?

Has anyone else reported something like that? If not then maybe the problem is local to that user's device only.

Thats the only report till now - but if it is a local problem, what would it be ?

What version of safari is the ipad on?

I am currently running some investigation with this user to ask those kind of questions. On my iPad there was no problem. So I guess you need the latest Safari version to avoid problems ?

Yes, we would certainly recommend doing so before anything else

This is the message I got from the user now :

I have a iPad 5th generation running 16.7.10. I have the latest version of Safari loaded. When I use the direct link the page starts to come up but then the screen goes black with the message " A problem repeatedly occurred on "https://www.hanspeterkruesi.com/". Sometimes after reloading it a dozen times it will stay up but once I go to another page the same thing will happen.

This is the message I got from the user now :

That is actually the last version of iOS 16, as that is the last version that was released for that device. We are currently on iOS 18, so that is quite outdated unfortunately (it came out nearly 8 years ago)

I see - ok then I guess that's the problem 😊

Still an issue in 5.0.4. Thanks.

This does not look to be an issue. If you are selecting "Featured" which is the default, then you would indeed see an image if there is one in the post. I believe what you are looking for is the rows view
