We just recently upgraded to v5. One of our members can only post by uploading attachments because there's no editor showing on his screen. All that I have been able to get for information so far is that he is using Safari. Anyone else experience this after upgrading to v5?

Would have the user try clearing their browser cache. If they still have issues, please let us know the version of iOS they're on.

I am impressed this isn't happening all over the web for them. That device is going on 6 years old.

With that said, we typically only provide support for modern devices. With the sheer size and number of devices out there, we cannot really promise compatibility with a device that is older than a year or two.

I've marked this to a developer to see if there is any further insight we can provide though.

He didn't have any issues with our site until we upgraded to v5 and the new editor. I understand that it is an old phone. Any help would be appreciated as he has supported a number of our different Invision forums for over 20 years now.

You really should tell them to upgrade to iOS 18 so that they have an updated version of Safari.

@Jim M - iPhone 11 may be an old device, but it's capable of running newer versions of Safari if the user upgrades iOS.

I’m still on iPhone 11 as well. That’s not the problem. The problem really is the old OS. There is no good reason to stay on an outdated version, when the phone supports the latest release easily and the update fixes dozens of security issues that came up over the years.

It's not to do with an old version of iOS https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/481700-member-gets-error-on-the-editor/#comment-2991451

Personally think it is a caching issue as I still see the old sidebar block layouts from 4.... even though all 4 themes are deactivated.

Your issue isnt. That doesnt mean these users arent having problems because of the iOS version (and its very very likely they are)
