This is not something in which can be amended without modification to the core platform.

Is this something which will be improved in the future versions ?

I've just written a new article in Pages and it's impossible to promote it :

That field is for Snippet or 'teaser', you're not supposed to put the entire article in there.

Just delete or remove enough characters, and then you will be able to post. You are able to edit or type in that box.  

This happens to me all of the time.  I either truncate the content or override all of the content with my own quick summary. 

On an additional note, I should add that IPS designed Our Picks / Promotion to be used in a very particular way.  

Our Picks / Promotion is not meant to be an automated promotion or an RSS feed or a widget of all latest content.  We have those already! It's meant to be human curated, which means human selection of content and human-written content.  

IPS includes the original content as a source of reference.  And the actual snippet used in the promotion is designed for you to human summarize the linked content.  

@Joel R In the past it was also more useful because you could post things to FB or Twitter (X), but both are not an option anymore now.

 

The FB option was removed ages ago, and Twitter has been broken for months, too. 🤷‍♂️

It still ties into the Our Picks widget, Our Picks page, and Our Picks on emails.  

There is no more social media promotion, but there is a lot tied to the community outreach.
