Florent_ Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Hello! For a few weeks now I've been seeing new users who don't validate their account. I thought it was just spammers. In fact, one user contacted me because he couldn't validate his account: When he clicked on the link in the email he was taken to the /register/?do=validating page with a "Your account does not require validation" message. Whatever they do, they are redirected to this page. I've tried to create a test account and I'm having the same problem. I don't think I've done anything in particular and I have no log of error. My version is up to date (4.7.15). Just an updated theme and a few plugins. Do you have any ideas? Thanks!
Jim M Posted February 13 Posted February 13 You have 2 member-related third party applications and plugins disabled. I would advise disabling them all and then testing again. Often, it can be these items creating a conflict.
Florent_ Posted February 13 Author Posted February 13 Hi Jim, I deactivated all the third-party applications and plugins with the same result. 😕 THanks
Solution Jim M Posted February 13 Solution Posted February 13 Please be advised I have opened a ticket for further investigation. Please watch your email for next steps. SeNioR- 1
Florent_ Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 For those who encounter the same issue: This is a known problem (as a reminder, I'm using 4.7.15). The advanced support/development team has made a manual correction in register.php. The problem will be corrected in "for the next upcoming maintenance release".
Daniel F Posted February 15 Posted February 15 It's a niche issue affecting only a handful of people for few clients, so there's probably not really a point in patching this yet.
Florent_ Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 Ah. So the next time I update, your fix will be deleted?

Simon.AU Posted March 27 Posted March 27 (edited) Hi, We have also begun seeing this issue (Invision Community Cloud version 4.7.16). Users are seeing the attached screenshot when they try to click validation links. Is there any possibility we could have the patch applied to our instance as well? regards David Edited March 27 by Simon.AU
Marc Posted March 28 Posted March 28 This was already patched on the release itself. Please go to your support area in the admin CP and check if its showing optional patches in that area. If so, please apply those.
Simon.AU Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Thank you, we didn't have any patches at the time but I see patch to 4.7.16 has appeared now, we will apply this and see how we go. David
