Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted August 24, 20231 yr I'm receiving a fb error "Sorry, something went wrong." when trying to use my fb login button after setting it up for the first time. I suspect it's because of the below but need some guidance. When following the social sign-in setup instructions(https://invisioncommunity.com/4guides/members-and-groups/social-sign-in/facebook-r300/), it says """Go to the Products > Facebook Login > Settings tab from the left sidebar. In the Valid OAuth redirect URIs field enter the value shown in your AdminCP, which will be your community's URL ending with "/oauth/callback/" on the end""" however the meta settings page gives a Valid OAuth Redirect URIs of "https://www.domain.com/applications/core/interface/facebook/auth.php" which doesnt have the /oauth/callback mentioned above. Confused which pieces to enter into the meta settings. Any help would be appreciated.

I would advise fully reviewing the guide and ensuring all configurations are up to date first of all 🙂 .
August 24, 20231 yr Author I just double checked everything and ensured it's all up to date. Also, I'm using https://www.domain.com/applications/core/interface/facebook/auth.php but do I need to modify that url to include /oauth/callback/ somewhere? The instructions are not clear.
August 24, 20231 yr You would need to update to include the /oauth/callback/ shown in your ACP on the Facebook side, per the instructions in the Guide. I would advise running through the guide top to bottom and ensuring your configuration matches. As from what you have posted so far, it does not.
August 24, 20231 yr Author That's the issue - Nothing in my ACP --> Settings --> Login & Registration shows any url with "/oauth/callback" - The only url shown is "https://www.domain.com/applications/core/interface/facebook/auth.php" which is not working when I add that into the fb "Valid OAuth Redirect URIs" field.
August 24, 20231 yr Your Facebook Login setup in the ACP may be outdated. You will want to create a new one in the ACP.
August 25, 20231 yr Author deleted existing fb login and added it again. same issue. this is getting really frustrating. how can someone from Invision log in and take a look to finally put this to rest?
August 25, 20231 yr Logging into your ACP, I am seeing it is correctly showing the /oauth/callback/ URL now. Did you update this now in your Facebook app on their website?
September 11, 20231 yr Hello Have same problem. Below are the settings I specified. What am I doing wrong? I read this topic and put this in FB app This is error
September 11, 20231 yr Check Google -same problem... I create new Goofle in ACP- without success Clear cache.. nothing Edited September 11, 20231 yr by Igor Denisov
September 11, 20231 yr The message there is stating you dont actually have your domain whitelisted, so you would need to check that first of all. Im not sure what you mean by google has the same problem, as thats 2 completely different setups
September 11, 20231 yr The problem is. That the function was done a long time ago. And it worked fine. Then Facebook Development sent me a message that due to an error they disabled my application. Everything I try doesn't help. Where do you think I should make changes. I have already read the entire instructions many times. Same problem with Google.. I check all and read instruction. Nothing. September 11, 20231 yr Please ensure that you have updated the API Keys and Secrets correctly and not still referencing your old one. Check that the URL you are using for the OAuth Redirect URI is actually the URL and there are no redirects involved going www to non-www for instance. Ensure that your have whitelisted your domain under App Settings -> Basic -> App Domains.
September 11, 20231 yr Before contacting the community, I double-checked the weight many times. And even re-recorded it. Now I did the same. Everything indicated is correct. But the login form doesn't work. I dpn't know what to do.... My options
