Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted May 9, 20231 yr Hello. IndexNow enabled in IPS settings sends links to private messages. I have my own friendly URL for private messaging. Could this be causing this to happen? How can I eliminate this problem? Thank you in advance.
May 9, 20231 yr This prompted me to take a look. I noticed I have ticket urls being submitted like: https://www.website.com/support/862/ They are all non-public pages with no access.
May 9, 20231 yr Community Expert Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.
May 9, 20231 yr Are you probably using Cloudflare and their IndexNow plugin/Crawler Hints feature? Negative. Its off.
June 1, 20231 yr Same for me, but instead of private messages I have the ModCP panel (modcp) on the list. PS: I have Cloudflare but IndexNow is only enabled in ACP settings.
June 1, 20231 yr @Stuart Silvester just helped me locate the issue here. So we're sending only items which are visible to guests to indexNow, but once the item is deleted, we send literally any item to IndexNow, no matter if it's visible or not. The reason for this is, that it could have been moved in the meanwhile so we want to be sure that IndexNow is made aware of the change. That said, we could probably disable this for Private Messages and Reports since they will never be visible to guests.
June 14, 20231 yr Author @Daniel F when "Prune conversations with no reply" is enabled, data about deleted messages is sent to IndexNow. Is there any way to stop this?
June 14, 20231 yr Author @Marc Stridgen I see. And those started processes in the queue, can I somehow remove them? Edited June 14, 20231 yr by adik
