Advertisements not showing on new theme

Strange one

I just installed a new theme (a dark mode one)

On my standard theme advertisements show just fine

When I switch theme to the new dark theme no advertisements show at all.

The install for the dark theme was just an XML file to change the CSS colours

Any ideas why the advertisements features just wouldn't show on a new theme if all that's changed is the CSS/colours?

I had to go into edit HTML and copy across some advert code
