Setting up a test site on another server

Hi guys,

We lost our webmaster some time ago and I have taken this task over. I need to transfer the whole site/contents/databases etc onto a new server. I have another domain i am looking at using for the test site before I risk losing the main live one if it goes wrong.

I know I can use the test license but i don't know how to update it so my new domain uses it.

I have downloaded the webspace contents and uploaded them. I have also downloaded the databases and made new ones. I have edited the conf.global.php information but no matter what i do it still redirects to my main live site.

Any help please is appreciated.
