G17 Media Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Is it possible you can change the revision_date in cms_database_revisions from a varchar(13) to an int? And maybe index it? We are working on a working on a way of showing Wiki edits and this is a bit of a blocker without us changing it manually. Thanks.
bfarber Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 Why specifically do you need it to be an indexed int column?
G17 Media Posted April 29, 2020 Author Posted April 29, 2020 We are putting CMS database edits into the All Activity feed.
bfarber Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 Ok, but why does that require changing the column type out of curiousity?
G17 Media Posted May 2, 2020 Author Posted May 2, 2020 (edited) Well, the idea of at least making it an int would make it consistent to how dates are stored elsewhere in the framework. The indexing would be useful for particularly for our use in putting edits in the activity stream so they are searchable by date/time, so probably isn't needed in the core framework (but might be useful if IPS wants to count/filter these by date/time) -- I'm happy to make our database inconsistent with an extra index. Solution bfarber Posted May 4, 2020 Solution Posted May 4, 2020 As the change you are suggesting has no practical impact in our case, it's not a change we are likely to make anytime in the immediate future. I'd recommend just adding the index and doing what you need to do.
