Automated posting. What is possible?

Hi, 

I have an event coming up and want to have the main conversation point be a single thread on my boards.  

How much automation can I get to have new posts created in that thread triggered by actions elsewhere.  I already use RSS/Atom feed to threat new threads, but can this be done to creat new posts within a thread.  

Can IFTTT be used to create a new post?  This would be ideal as I could then have IFTTT follow certain hashtags blogs and accounts from various social platforms.  

I am trying to use this single master post as a place to view all the various discussions tag twill be taking place in a number of different locations without having to manually re-post everything. 

Any other suggestions?
