Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted May 22, 20186 yr This feedback is based upon 4.3 Gallery. 1. Close button when uploading images. Notice the overlapping X's 2. When creating albums > Submissions > Anyone can submit to this album. This isn't clear. Do you literally mean everybody, including guests? Or do you only mean all registered users? 3. Invite-Only Albums: who is invited?? how do I invite?? 4. Private Album: private to who?? 5. When Creating Albums > Privacy > I want to choose which groups can submit to this album What if I select groups that don't include me? I got an error during uploading when I selected groups that didn't include me. 6. Moderate albums from category view to hide / feature / pin / delete / move. 7. Mobile View can still be better. File description and reaction area is unbalanced to Comments box.
June 5, 20186 yr I wish there was a simple enable/disable toggle to turn the abomination that is the light box on/off. It's truly a pain in the arse to come out of it and get to the 'normal image and comments view'. I still haven't figured it out, it often takes you back to the Gallery index yet other times it will take you to the normal image view. However, when you can access the normal image view, the touch slide to flick between images works great. It seems to have all the details the light box has and you can get to the full image, see the comments clearer instead of all squished up.

June 5, 20186 yr Author Yeah you can click on gallery images in any of the locations: Image feed block Gallery index Album list view Album page
June 13, 20186 yr Author Update on my feedback using 4.3 Gallery Move between images when editing images: it's not easy to move between images to edit details. You have to manually select image-by-image using mouse. Wish there was keyboard actions to quickly move forward / backwards It was actually easier to move to the next image in 4.2's gallery.
June 20, 20186 yr Please make this stupid easy to use and contribute to on mobile. Please make COPYRIGHT and AUTHOR optional. It's so lame that this is hard coded in! (check out instagram =P ) On mobile when i scroll to the bottom of a gallery i get shot back to top and its crazy hard to use! This happens on all androids i've tested with in firefox/chrome. @Matt

Scrolling through comments is also tough. Desktop seems ok.
June 25, 20186 yr Author Two new items for feedback on gallery: When adding a copyright / credit / tag during "Add Images," add a visual cue if an item is saved. Right now, you can't tell if a copyright is added and saved. Can you tell which two items I added?? I sure can't. (Trick question! I only added item to one of the settings.) Add filter to gallery categories for: My Albums / Private Albums / Shared Submissions. I have many categories with over 200+ albums contributed by me and the community, and I'd like to quickly find these special albums. 11 pages of albums to filter

If I don't want these options offered I should be able to remove them. It's another roadblock for end-users--especially on mobile.

I don't want to set a president where users are allowed to upload content they do not own. It's not ok and it contradicts our ToS and it's buttons to click for no logical reason. It trips ppl up.
July 16, 20186 yr Author Oh I see. You'll probably have to do some template edits to hide or remove the options.
July 17, 20186 yr Has anyone had an issue with the gallery where when you hit "submit image" (after adding the image) but then it just does nothing? Is there a step I am missing?

September 18, 20186 yr Author Attachments on Gallery Description This continues to be a pain point, evidenced by the fact that 4 out of the past 4 new users who attempted to upload images into an album (without detailed screen by screen instructions) all screwed up. They all uploaded their images into the description's attachment field. I can understand why. On the Create Album form, you're asking them to create an album with Name, Description, and Drag files here. It's logical to think you upload images there. There is NO information or cue to explain that image uploading is on the next page. There's NO explanation that the descriptions' attachment field is only for the description.
