Split Topic - New OP?

Is it possible to split posts to a different topic and keep that topic's original post intact?

 

Case:

Topic 1 has off topic discussion.
Moderator creates Topic 2, with an OP of "Discussion of <offtopic>"
Moderator moves posts from Topic 1 to Topic 2.
Moderators OP is now at the bottom of the thread, due to chronological timestamp.

 

Is it possible to get Moderator's OP on the topic at the top?  Does this require DB edit?

It would be great to move post to another topic. The moved post must be placed on the time manner.
