Question about Login Handlers and Social Media Promotion

Hello, I'm wondering if there's a way to enable Twitter or Facebook login handlers without creating a new account when people do so. I think I had read about an option of merging the new account into the existing one using some sort of customised method.

My second question is how do you import Twitter status updates?
