Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Surendra.S Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Hi All, I recently UPGRADED from IPB 4.1.17 to 4.2.5 During the upgrade, I got below message displayed on screen, but I completed the upgrade, as I had the minimum required PHP version. === You are running PHP version 5.6.19. While this version is compatible, we recommend version 7.0.0 or above. You can re-run these checks later from the Support section of the Administrator Control Panel. You do not have the Exif PHP extension loaded. While this is not required, it is recommended. === Just now, I have asked my server support team to upgrade PHP version on my server to PHP 7.0 and they replied that sometimes this can break sites when switching versions. I want to ask you below : 1) If I upgrade my PHP version to 7.0 now, will it cause any problem to my website running IPB forum ? Is IPB 4.2.5 fully compatible with PHP 7.0 ? 2) Whats the purpose of Exif PHP ? If it helps, I can get that installed as well, as I have a dedicated server. Please let me know.
Surendra.S Posted November 7, 2017 Author Posted November 7, 2017 Got a super quick reply from IPB support that IPB 4.2.5 fully compatible with PHP 7.0 / 7.1 Thank You !
