Has anyone noticed that even if you delete content, the # of posts/topics in the forum statistics block stays the same? I've even gone to the Moderator CP to permanently delete "deleted content", cleared my browser cache and refreshed the site. Seems odd.

There is a cleanup task that runs every few days or so that does recounts.  The # isn't re-computed on the fly every time something is removed.
