Problem uploading photos via mobile devices

Hi all. I've been getting a lot of reports from members on my forum that they are getting an "error 200" message when uploading photos via their phones. I've tried uploading photos via my laptop, everything is fine. I try to upload the same photos from my phone and some upload, others dont and I get the "error 200, there was a problem processing the file." message.

we thought it was file size that may be the problem, but it appears to be just random. Some large photo file sizes upload no probs, while other smaller files fail. Some large ones fail, and small ones upload fine. They are all in jpg or jpeg format which is on our list of accepted file uploads.

Is this fault server side and if so what would I need to look at?

I seem to have solved this by enabling imagic on my server and switching the forum default of using GD for images to imagic. Just for anyone experiencing the same problem.
