Merging Members - Lost Reputation

We had two members that we merged. Let's call them MemberA and MemberB. 

MemberA had a community reputation of X, MemberB had a community reputation of Y (via likes on posts). 

We ran the member merge process from the AdminCP with the settings "Merge MemberB into MemberA, then delete Member B".

After it completed, MemberA then had a reputation of X, rather than what I would have expected which is X+Y. Further, every like on every post ever made by MemberB disappeared (which explains why their reputation wasn't adjusted). 

Now the question is... if MemberB's posts are now "owned" by MemberA, should those "likes" not still remain on those posts, and therefore be credited to MemberA?
